Steve, and his wife Laura, and their son Matt and daughter-in-law Hillary, run a 3rd and 4th generation cow-calf operation, and 500 acre irrigated ranch. The Pargin family arrived in the Pine River Valley in 1877. Like Steve's anciesters, he has a love for stock, and for the land on which they forage. Steve and Laura live east of Ignacio. They have two adult sons who also make their living from the land. They are very progressive in their cattle and hay business. Steve has served on the PRID Board for over 25 years. He is currently serving as the secretary of the Board. He brings a wealth of agricultural and business knowledge to the table, and effective problem solving skills that blend well with the other Board members. He attended Colorado State University and graduated in 1975 with a degree in Ag Business. He is dedicated in improving the PRID, and the community in which he lives, as he serves selflessly on several boards in La Plata County.
