Christy Duran
Christy has been the PRID Office Manager for 33 years. She was hired by Superintendent Joe Brown on May 15, 1989. Christy is a third generation resident of the Durango, Colorado area. She graduated from Bayfield High School in 1977. Christy has three adult sons, two of which reside in Bayfield, Colorado. She is the proud grandmother of 4 grand sons. As the Office Manager, Christy has seen many changes in the District. She has worked with four different superintendents, seen several Board of Directors contribute to the District's efforts, and watched the installation of a five-mega-watt Power Plant added to the Pine River Project features. Over the years, Christy has made innumerable contribution to the success of the PRID. Perhaps, one of the her greatest contributions is her unheralded quality of reminding the PRID staff to "look for the good” in all those we interact with including: our own staff members, shareholders, the general public, Bureau of Reclamation staff, and even those who might criticize our efforts. What better legacy could one leave in their employment, or in life!
