Allen McCaw

Position: Director. Vice President

Allen and his brother Ed  run a 300 acre hay operation near Ignacio, Colorado. They are  third-generation producers who have raised their families on the family farm.  Allen attended Colorado State University where he completed a degree in Civil Engineering in 1990.  He also works as an Engineer for the United States Forest Service, in Durango, Colorado.  Allen brings a broad range of skills, knowledge, and talents to the PRID Board that are a natural product of his agricultural roots and work with the US Forest Serve in:  environmental and project planning, budget and finance, and engineering work.  He is a stong proponent of sustainable and efficient agriculture practices.  Allen's contributions on the Board speaks highly of the rising generation of agriculture producers ability to work well with others in resolving contempory complex problems and over-coming other challenges.  Among the challenges they face are competing interest for the limited water resources, while keeping Colorado's agriculture viable and stong in the 21st century.  Allen is active in his community where he gives freely of his time coaching basketball and serving as President of the Ignacio School District.
